Monday saw the Armed Forces Day Flags raised across Britain. For the Nottingham service we were at Wollaton Hall. I had a great point of view from on top of one of the guns as the Flag arrived attached to a parachutist. (See photos here)
I also got to meet 'Fearless' the Nottingham in Bloom Lion. Named this year in honour of our Armed Forces.

Went to a lovely reception at the Council House last night in honour of local boxing hero Carl Froch being crowned super-middleweight world champion. Cameras and TV crews everywhere so keep an eye out for me.
I even managed to get him to sign a photo for me.

Wollaton Halls lawns were full of classic cars and even buses for the Autokarna. Had a great time looking around them all. There were some amazing hood ornaments, including this beautiful British Bulldog on a 1952 Daimler.
How come you never see Bears as hood Ornaments?? If you ever see one let me know.
Also bumped into a distant relative - Definitely a speed freak this guy.

On 5th May 2013 - HRH The Princess Anne unveiled a new memorial to Nottingham's Fire-fighters In St Mary's Church yard.
Unfortunately with all the security I couldn't get a photo with the Princess or even close to the memorial that day so popped back the other day to have another look at it.
